Spring Drama Class Schedule 2012

*CLASSES for AGES 5-9

PLAY MAKERS (AGES 5-8)             TUES   4:00-5:30pm

This Beginners Drama Class challenges students to create their own original play from scratch.  Young performers explore the Fun of drama through storytelling exercises, creative play and theater games, as they weave together an original show that is all their own.

SHOOTING STARS (AGES 6-9)            WED  4:00-5:30PM

This Intermediate Drama class challenges students to adapt a well known Children’s Book into a play, with focus on character building, voice, and ensemble skills. It starts with a story that you may know, but it’s anyone’s guess where it may go?

*CLASSES for AGES 10-14

The ACTING LAB (AGES 10-14)             TUES   6:00-7:30pm

This Experimental Acting Class challenges students to create an original show based around a certain Genre of Film, TV, or Literature. Students must explore the genre and create original Characters, Storylines, Scenes, Monologues, Parodies and Plot Devices to create their own original play. Last session we tackled “The Sitcom Project,” what will our next experiment be?

INDIE FILM Workshop (AGES 10-14)    WED   6:00-7:30PM   (SOLD OUT!)

NEW! Get ready for a New Twist on our popular Film and TV class, where young filmmakers focus on Writing and Acting for the Camera. The challenge is to create 10 independent shorts in 14 short weeks.

IMPROV COMEDY (AGES 10-14 )    THURS    4:45-6:00PM

This class challenges students to think fast on their feet and create hilarious scenes an sketches based on audience suggestions. There are no scripts, no lines, and no limits to the comedy that can erupt from this fast paced, high-energy art form. Students will learn basic rules, character techniques, ensemble skills, listening & reacting, and scene structure as they throw caution to the wind and create spontaneous laughter around every turn.

*CLASSES for AGES 14-18

MAINSTAGE COMPANY   (AGES 14+)    THURS   6:00-8:00PM

General Class Information

Program cost: $285/ session

Early Reg Discount: (before Dec 1)  $260/ session

All classes run one day a week for 14 weeks.

We cannot allow any students to join a session after Week 3

We cannot offer Refunds for Class Tuition after Week 3

Final performances happen on the final class day @ 5:00pm in most cases.

Unfortunately, we can not allow parents to observe classes in progress.
